    Animals:Animals were horses that presented to equine veterinarians for overall poor performance or back soreness, the majority of which were American Quarter Horses and Warmblood horses.
     Breeds associated:
    Design:Animals were genotyped using the Illumina Equine SNP70 array and GWAS was performed for "kissing spines" grade, based on radiographical assessment of severity of impingement and overriding of spinous processes. A total of 61,229 SNPs were used for analysis.
    Analysis:A linear model was used.
