Subject: USDA-ARS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Fish/Shellfish Functional
        Genomics
Date: Mon, 24 Nov 2025 14:12:50 -0600
Greetings,

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral research fellow in fish / shellfish
functional genomics to join us at the USDA-ARS Aquatic Animal Health
Research Unit in Auburn, AL USA. The ideal candidate will have experience
and expertise in animal genomics research, with an emphasis on the use of
computational approaches to study biological processes.

Our group has a diverse list of multi-omics projects for which the
candidate may participate. Major project areas include the functional
genomics of fish and shellfish health (host-pathogen interactions;
nutrition; reproduction), which has encompassed gene expression/co-
expression/network analyses, building of bioinformatics/ AI/ML resources,
immunogenomics, single cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics,
immune repertoire characterization, gene editing, and reproductive
epigenetics. In addition to advanced computational methodology, this
fellowship may include training in the field, the fish houses, and the
bench to answer research questions, resulting in a well- rounded functional
genomics experience.

Compensation and benefits are highly competitive. This opportunity will
begin accepting applications on 12/1/2025 and candidates will be evaluated
on a rolling basis. Currently, the USDA is only accepting applications from
U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (LPRs).

Please find detailed position description and application information at
https://www.zintellect.com/...-2025-0150.
Informal inquiries are welcome and can be directed to Dr. Jason Abernathy
(Jason.Abernathy(at)usda.gov).
