Dear Prof Astrid Dempfle,
Dear colleagues and friends of Leo,
I would like to express my deepest and most sincere condolences to your
family and all relatives.
I had contact with Leo for many years at joint meetings of the animal
breeding departments in Munich, Weihenstephan, and Grub, as well as on many
other occasions. Leo was always a very attentive listener and helped the
younger colleagues greatly with his very precise questions and comments.
Even after his retirement, he was still an active contributor to
discussions at conferences. He deserves to be honored for his tireless
commitment to science and his great collegiality.

Dear colleagues and friends of Leo,
with great sadness, I would like to inform you that my father passed away
on February 6 after a rather short period of illness. The funeral will be
held in Kranzberg (near Freising) next Friday.
